John J. Zettlemoyer, Jr.

John was born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania and grew up in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Navy and served for six years on submarines. After being honorably discharged, he graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and then pursued his law degree at New England School of Law. He graduated from law school in 1977 and decided to return to Pennsylvania with his family. After returning to Pennsylvania, he worked for a couple of small firms before deciding to go solo. John opened his first practice in Emmaus. Shortly thereafter, he was elected Magisterial District Judge for the boroughs of Emmaus, Macungie, Alburtis, and the townships of Upper Milford and Lower Macungie. He served in that role for 12 years, while still managing a part-time law practice. Since 1992, he has practiced law full-time. In 2004, his daughter, Emily A. Zettlemoyer joined him. John has served on numerous area non-profit boards of directors. John also volunteers with the Emmaus Historical Society. He serves as a member of the Emmaus General Authority and is the acting general counsel for the Slovak Evangelical Lutheran Church (SELC) District. In his spare time, John enjoys reading, traveling, and spoiling his grandchildren.

Emily A. Zettlemoyer

Emily was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania and grew up in Emmaus. She attended Gettysburg College, where she majored in Political Science with a Spanish minor. Emily then moved to White Plains, New York in Westchester County where she attended Pace University School of Law. While in law school, Emily worked in the legal department of the ASPCA and acted as a research assistant for one of her professors who wrote the supplementary practice commentaries for the New York Family Court Act and Domestic Relations law. In 2004, after graduating from law school, Emily moved back home to the Lehigh Valley to join the family business. Emily served on the board of directors for THE PROGRAM for Women and Families from 2006 to 2015, when the organization merged with Pinebrook Family Answers. In her spare time, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, traveling to Disney World and Long Beach Island, and reading.
